Our adventure starts in Iquitos, capital of the Peruvian Jungle and after a brief city tour, we will be in the vessel, our home during this week. Today, our guides will teach us the best way to observe and enjoy the beauty of the jungle.
At 2400 miles of the mouth of the wonderful Amazon in the Atlantic is the begining of the river, we will explore this area in silent boats surrounding by pink and grey dolphins; here, we will have the opportunity to see the famous Victorias Regias.
This part of the Jungle is also known as “the jungle of mirrors” because of the so dark water tributaries that reflect the surrounding landscape. We will have the opportunity to take advange of the narrow rivers to go fishing the terrible piranha.
We will spend the whole day in one of the main tributaries that crosses the Reserve feeling the energy of the biggest tropical rainforest of the world; we may see a huge diversity of birds such as heron, macaw and toucan, group of capuchino monkey, iguana, sloths, adorning the top of the trees.
The Amazon culture may not go unnoticed; we will try to understand its conception of the world having contact with the riverside inhabitants. At night, a Shaman Jibaro will complete our experience with a health and good luck ceremony.
The adventure continues to explore the highest areas of the jungle through suspended bridges allowing us to have an unusual view from the top of the trees. Then, we will row accross the dark water lake with a wide diversity of fishes and aquatic creatures as giant river otters.
After breakfast, our trip ends and we arrive to the Iquitos city to continue our journey to the airport and go back to Lima.
This itinerary may vary depending on the weather and seasons that control the water level in the rivers and the wild life cycle to protect its natural habitat. Visits to the local villages are carefully planned to avoid a negative impact in their cultural identity.
